2019 Training Workshop: Cold, Co-creations, and Evening News

7 December 2019

Teachers, community scientists, and distinguished elder joined Fresh Eyes scientists for our first ice observation training workshop in Fairbanks, Dec 5-7. Coming from as far as Noatak, AK, community-based monitoring team leaders came together to share My Ice Stories, co-create Ice Safety and Snow and Ice Observation protocols, and test out new techniques during Interior Alaska's first serious cold snap.

A brave reporter from KTVF Channel 11 even joined us on the Tanana River to capture the Our Ice Story moment for the evening news. Definitely a fun and successful workshop thanks to an enthusiastic group of new ice citizen scientists.
