There's a lot of information out there telling how thick ice should be before you walk, snowmachine, or drive on it, but not as much about how to safely check what this ice thickness is. Here in this new video produced by Tohru Saito and narrated by Katie Spellman, the Fresh Eyes on Ice team demonstrates how to check ice thickness so that groups of adults and kids can go out on lakes and rivers to monitor ice and snow and learn about the wonders of science in the winter.
