Hot off the press from the Fresh Eyes on Ice team. This study reports how very thick ice can still grow on North Slope rivers and lakes during low snow winters, despite recent thinning trends. Ice thickness has important implications for aquatic habitat in both cases. Thanks to BLM and NSF for support of this research!
