Freeze-up on the Innoko River in 2021

6 December 2021

As part of the Fresh Eyes on Ice project (http://fresheyesonice.org/) at University of Alaska Fairbanks we are documenting ice phenology (freeze-up and break-up of ice) on rivers throughout Alaska. The Innoko River flows through amazing country of western Alaska before merging with the Yukon River near Holy Cross. This camera is just downstream from the community of Shageluk where student ice observers at the Innoko River School monitor river and lake ice conditions as a science team for this project.
